PARKING & TRANSPORTATIONMechanics’ Hall is located at 519 Congress Street. Our main entrance is between Loquat Shop and the Art Mart. The Greater Portland Metro’s Congress & Casco Street Stop is directly in front of our building, served by routes 1, 7, 8, and 9B.Parking is available at the Arts District Garage, which has entrances on Casco and Brown Street, with a rate of $5 per hour. Metered street parking is available on Congress, Casco, Cumberland, Free Street, and other nearby streets. Free hourly street parking is available between Parris and Alder Street.ACCESSIBILITYTo enter our building, patrons will need to navigate a single step or use a modular wheelchair ramp. This event is created for and by Black & Brown Trans, Queer & Gender Non-conforming people. Ballroom has historically been a space for this community to gather and express themselves freely, to provide support and mutual aid, and to ensure our survival.In the spirit of community, we invite spectators and participants of all identities to attend. We encourage attendees who have the means to sponsor a ticket for a member of the QTBIPOC community to contribute using our donation option, or buy a ticket for someone they know who would benefit from attending. You can make a suggested donation of $25-$50+ to support the attendance of those who need it most.

An ode to the disco diva era! Give us 70’s classic glamour with your own twist. Deliver a retro silhouette embellished to the nines, head to toe sparkle and shine, with an illustrious stage presence to match. Show us why you are the belle of the ball, the toast of the town!

Open to All Face

Polish those pearly whites, and get ready to get up close and personal. Think highlighting the subtleties of your features to glimmer like a gem. Accentuate what you feel most beautiful about using shimmery, iridescent colors and face accessories. Coordinate with your look, but don’t forget why we’re here - sell the judges that face!

Drag Face

Calling all drag performers - kings, queens, and in-betweens! This category is for those who use their face as a canvas to step fully into a surreal persona of their imagination. Give us the ENTIRE effect, this is your chance to become fully Prismatic. Embrace color, opulence, and complete transformation into a radiant being of light.

Sex Siren

Do you feel like an embodiment of sensual essence? Is your body but a blade for desirability to wield? Show the judges exactly what it is that makes you a true embodiment of sex in this category. Think metallics and high shine layers that can be peeled back as you sell us the full fantasy.

Runway with a Prop

American (masc) vs. European (femme). Bring it to the runway with a Prismatic-inspired prop of your choice. We are looking for form, stride, posing, and overall glow. We want to see you in a radiant, prismatic look in any color, owning the runway with your energy and use of your prop. Open to all, show us your strut and leave it all on the floor.

Bizzare

It’s time to unearth those hidden garments you’ve saved in the archives, or display your latest completely unhinged and inspired fashion creation. Think complete transformation, going to the full extent to show us something never before seen. Morph into a regal, rhinestoned, otherworldly entity that radiates from within.

Body

Deliver the goods! This category is calling for one thing and one thing only – a glistening physique. We are looking for confidence and delivery, not unrealistic beauty standards. Thick or slim, it doesn’t matter – we’re looking for an empowered energy channeled through your muscles, movements, and expression. Accentuate your figure with an outfit that makes you feel like a deity. Give our judges something to contemplate with each step, each flex, each angle.

Vogue Performance

Give us your inner glow, and leave no question as to how bright you shine. Open to all styles - Vogue Femme, Old Way, or New Way. Your effect should be sleek, think clean lines, and ethereal holographic colors. Show us why you bring it to them every ball with your performance, and don’t forget to show the 5 elements. Glistening, glimmering, we want to see a show!
